“- When I was fifteen, all I wanted was to go off to some other world, a place beyond anybody’s reach. A place beyond the flow of time.”
– But there’s no place like that in this world.
– Exactly. Which is why I’m living here, in this world where things are continually damaged, where the heart is fickle, where time flows past without a break.”
― Haruki Murakami

On the morning of September 28th, 2000, when I was fifteen, I woke up a man. You are no longer physically here but I know you are everywhere I am. September 28th is your day—it is dedicated to your silent stubborn will to live for those you loved. Although the 28th claimed your last breath, you claimed this day for love. Even in the face of death and this unfair world, you showed me how to live. Twelve years later, I thank you, I miss you, I love you.

May you live all the days of your life… tomorrow may not grant you such a wonderful opportunity.
